Let’s Make A Change Together.
A note from our President Dagada;
South Africa is a parliamentary democracy where citizens elect representatives to choose the President. The government is divided into executive, legislative, and judicial branches, with the ANC as the dominant party since 1994. However, growing support for opposition parties like the DA and EFF is changing the political landscape. A great example,Duma Boko, has been sworn in as Botswana's new president, ending nearly 60 years of rule by the Botswana Democratic Party. The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) swept up more than half the seats in parliament, enough to form a government and run the diamond-rich country of some 2.6 million people. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa congratulated Boko, praising the "democratic maturity" of the region. Arise South Africa President Mpho Dagada expressed admiration for the newly appointed President's relentlessness to create a change within the democratic space. European Union welcomed the "exemplary transition of power". What does this mean for Botswana: Potential for economic diversification and job creation, focus on green transformation and digitalization, and a fresh approach to tackling unemployment and wealth inequality. In essence,navigating this intricate political landscape requires awareness and understanding. And by staying informed about key issues and developments, South Africans can participate actively in shaping the nation's future and contribute to a more just and equitable society for all.
